Supervision & Mentoring

Supervision is a formal mentoring process for licensed clinicians to become AASECT Certified Sex Therapists.  There is nothing I enjoy more than helping to develop the next generations of sex therapists.

Did you know there are less than 700 AASECT Certified Sex Therapists in the world?  This is sacred work, made up of extraordinary people.  To put that in perspective, there are more than 100,000 Licensed Clinical Psychologists in the United States.

When I take on a Supervisee, I view them as an extension of myself so I put my heart and soul in to their growth and development.  I provide individual and group supervision each Friday by Skype for therapists throughout the world.  If you are interested in becoming an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, please contact me.

The Sexuality : Diversity Matters Scholarship program provides pro-bono supervision for those pursuing AASECT certification as a sex therapist.  The award is for sex therapy supervision and was founded by Dr. Neil Cannon, Dr. Joe Kort, Dan Maloney and Eliza Boquin.  The purpose of the scholarship is to support People of Color and the communities they serve.

The winner of the scholarship receives 25 hours of individual supervision from Dr. Joe Kort and one other AASECT Certified Supervisor, who we carefully select to match up with your interests.  The winner also receives 25 hours of group supervision from me.   This is a “full ride” scholarship that meets AASECT’s requirements for the supervision portion of sex therapy certification requirements.

Please apply by no later than September 1st of each year for the following year.  To apply, please contact Dan Maloney, LCSW & AASECT Certified Sex Therapist.
