Sex Therapy
Individual therapy can be an amazing gift we give to ourselves. For some, I have seen therapy be life-changing and even life-saving. You are probably doing research because you need something to be different in your life or the life of a loved one. I would love to be your guide on that journey.
Many clients come to therapy feeling hopeless and broken. I believe that no matter how long you’ve been facing a problem or how many times you’ve tried to “fix” it, there is always hope. Sometimes the hardest step is simply making the first appointment. I encourage you to reach out and take that important step toward feeling better and living the life you want.
I take a strength-based, non-judgmental approach. I work with all matters related to sex, intimacy, relationships, and gender identity. For some, the very idea of talking about sex is excruciatingly painful. Nothing makes us feel more vulnerable than talking about sex, and I never lose sight of that. I want you to feel fully accepted and supported. And just like you, I want you to make progress toward your goals at the pace right for you.
I am fully immersed in the field of sex therapy. I do three things. I teach, I supervise, and I treat my own clients. Those three areas of focus are highly synergistic and each makes me better at the other. Supervision is a formal mentoring and case consultation process that clinicians go through to get licensed and certified. Two full days of every week for me are devoted to supervision with sex therapists from across North America. During those eight days each month, 50 clinicians come to me for help with their most difficult case. Trust me, I don’t have all the answers; however, working on those cases definitely makes me a better sex therapist.
